The Great Eco-Friendly Destinations in Africa

5 Great Eco-Friendly Destinations in Africa

Africa has embraced eco-tourism where by tourism activities are aimed at not only bringing in revenue but also conservation of natural resources as well as a means to benefit the local communities in various capacities.
Eco-tourism has been taking shape in Africa with various individuals and organizations developing destinations that encompass pristine, fragile and relatively undisturbed natural areas for the benefit of the community and the traveler.

The International Ecotourism Society defines ecotourism as “responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment, sustains the well-being of the local people, and involves interpretation and education” (TIES, 2015). Education is meant to be inclusive of both staff and guests.

In a bid to preserve natural destinations relatively untouched by human intervention, environmentalists have been pushing for conservation of such places since 1980.

And some spots in Africa have been created in an eco-friendly backdrop which is all about uniting conservation, communities, and sustainable travel.
