16 Days Uganda Photography Adventure Safari

This 16 Days Uganda Photography Adventure Safari trip will take you through the most scenic areas of Uganda, rewarding you with many photography opportunities. Through the jungle, you won’t miss out on the beautiful dormant volcanoes that stand on the borders of Uganda/Rwanda/ Congo around the Virungas area which will grant you photo views from the top of the lava-dammed Lake Mutanda.

Day 1: Arrival at the Airport

On arrival, our representative will pick you up for 16 Days Uganda Photography Adventure and drive you to your hotel to relax and prepare for the next amazing days around the pearl of Africa.

16 Days Uganda Photography AdventureDay 2: Drive to Sipi Falls

After a delicious breakfast, we shall drive east through the capital city of Uganda [Kampala] famously known as the city of 7 hills because of the old outstanding features that are seen from a far distance and catch everyone’s eyes from a distance.

Cross the mighty River Nile and drive to Sipi Falls that flow down the world’s freestanding caldera {Mount Elgon]. The location of these falls provides an amazing sunset over the flat plains and will be a great opportunity to capture our first sunset

Day 3: Sipi Falls Nature Walk

Wake up on a beautiful sunrise for breakfast and go for a medium hike around the Sipi Falls impressive waterfalls and later transfer to the Karamoja region through the Pian Upe game reserve which will give you a lot of photo opportunities with the landscapes and wildlife in this beautiful area such as Ostriches, buffaloes, cheetah, among others.

Day 4: Kidepo Safaris

Experience the life of a nomad warrior in the Karamoja region as you learn about the tactics and weapons they used during their cattle raids on the neighbouring communities such as the Masai, Manyata, Ik and Turkana that live on the Kenya and South Sudan borders. You could decide to have a visit to the Karamajong family and learn about their day-to-day life experience as well as local wood carving by a craftsman. This provides you the opportunity to engage and interact with the local people for a whole package of awesome memories on 16 Days Uganda Photography Adventure.

16 Days Uganda Photography AdventureDay 5: Game Drives and Safaris

Morning participation in the cattle milking process and transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park the true African savanna wilderness with lots of wildlife to spot such as giraffes, lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, zebras and many different bird species. Check in the hotel for lunch and go for an afternoon safari through the Narus valley which has the largest migration of water buffaloes on the African continent.

Day 6: Karamajong Cultural Visits.

We always have a touch of charity on our trips and that’s why we wake up on an early morning visit to one of Uganda’s isolated tribes living in the Murongole mountains that stand high on the border of Uganda and South Sudan. The community has a population of less than 900 people living in grass-thatched huts that show the real life of an African village and lifestyle. Return through the Kidepo Valley where the park derives its name as we try to spot some wildlife en route to the lodge

Day 7: Murchison Falls

Early morning drive around the park to catch some of the great sunrises and spot wildlife as we head out northwest to Murchison Falls National Park. The drive will take us through the Nilotic homesteads that are exclusive to this area and meet happy faces en route despite the daily hard work.

16 Days Uganda Photography AdventureDay 8: Murchison Falls Activities

We shall take on an early morning start to catch the early cats and have a picnic breakfast on the Albert Nile as we watch the hippos, antelopes, buffaloes and much more wildlife stare at us. Expect to do an afternoon launch trip on the Victoria Nile that will bring us close to schools of hippos, water buffaloes, crocodiles, elephants, water birds and lots of wildlife that come down to grab a drink.

You will then spot the Murchison Falls from a distance and be dropped off at the bottom to start the hike to the top of the world’s strongest waterfall that flows down a 45m narrow gorge. Later we shall drive to our hotel for relaxation as we prepare for a beautiful drive to the primate capital on the next day

Day 9: Drive to Kibale

After breakfast, we shall embark on our long drive to the primate capital of East Africa [Kibale Forest National Park] via the Albert escarpment, which will reward you with amazing views and a touch of the African village’s lookout. On a good day, if the weather is clear enough we expect to view the Blue Mountains in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

En route, we shall have a stopover in Hoima Central Market for a walk around the market and buy some fruits for our en-route snacks. We shall also learn about the different organic Ugandan foods that will enlighten us on what the Ugandan delicacy looks like.

Day 10: Chimpanzee Tracking

On this day of 16 Days Uganda Photography Adventure; we shall meet and greet the chimps that are close to the human race and view quite several other monkeys such as the red colobus, black and white colobus, mangabeys, blue monkeys and lots of birdlife. After the swamp walk, we shall either decide to do a swamp walk in Bigodi or a community local food preparation and have a taste of the organic food delicacy.

Day 11: Queen Elizabeth’s Activities

Today we shall drive to the melody of wonders that will reward you with amazing landscapes and do an afternoon launch trip that will bring you close to the African wildlife that dwells along the Kazinga channel that connects lakes George and Edward.

En route, we shall have a good view of the Rwenzori mountains and visit the Kiwa hot springs to have a bath in a local underground warm pool. Expect lunch en route and an optional evening safari to spot some wildlife in the savanna plains of Kasenyi.

16 Days Uganda Photography AdventureDay 12: Drive to Bwindi Gorilla Forest

We shall leave the hotel early morning for a safari through the north of Queen Elizabeth to increase our chances of spotting the shyest African cats in their savanna habitat and drive through Ishasha the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth that’s famous for the tree-climbing lions and continue with the transfer to the Mountain gorilla forest.

We expect to have lunch en route and check into our hotel later in the evening as we catch the amazing sunsets over the Bwindi impenetrable gorilla park.

Day 13: Gorilla Trekking Day for 16 Days Uganda Photography Adventure

The long-awaited day is here when we shall encounter the Gorilla forest to meet and greet with the world’s most gentle primates in one of the dense tropical rain forests of the world that will reward you with once-in-a-lifetime unending smiles and memories after setting eyes on the massive ‘Mountain Gorillas’.

The trekking is never easy or hard, it’s always fun walking through the jungle and experiencing what life is like in the forest. The hike may be short or long depending on the Gorilla’s movements. We shall then drive on to Lake Bunyonyi after the ultimate gorilla experience that will reward us with a lot of beautiful views and sunsets.

Day 14: Lake Bunyonyi

Today we shall stay and relax at one of the most beautiful lakes in the world covered with 29 islands that offer one of the most beautiful landscape photography chances you can ever have. The lake is the second deepest in Africa with a depth of 45 – 900 m offering less survival of water mammals hence healthy for swimming and engaging in several adventure activities such as canoe treks, boat rides, high ropes climbing zip lining across the lake and much more. This will be a hustle-free day, where you will have optional activities and decide on what you really would like to do, you can also opt to relax and enjoy the views

16 Days Uganda Photography AdventureDay 15: Drive to Lake Mburo

Today we shall drive to one of Uganda’s unique national parks that is a habitat to unique wildlife such as impalas, elands, plain zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, topi and over 320 different bird species making it a top destination for both safaris and bird watching. You expect to do a walking safari in the Lake Mburo savanna plains as you enjoy the great company of pretty wildlife around you.

Day 16: Drive back to Kampala or Entebbe

As we conclude our beautiful wildlife and adventure tour around the pearl of Africa, today you will be blessed with a cultural tour to explore and learn about the culture of the Bahima who are a semi-nomadic tribe living around Lake Mburo National Park with their treasure long horned cows. You will have a chance to participate in the milking process and many more cultural excursions of the Bahima people.

We shall then return to the lodge for breakfast and check out as we embark on our journey back home with bags full of beautiful memories. En route, expect a stopover at the equator line that divides the world into the northern and southern hemispheres for souvenir shopping and lunch.
