SIX DAYS GORILLA AND CHIMPANZEE TREKKING

The 6 days Uganda safari with chimpanzee and gorilla trekking will take you to different tourist destinations in the Western and Southwestern part of Uganda including Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking which covers an area of 331 sq km and homes the most endangered species; the mountain gorillas plus a number of other wildlife species like over 220 butterfly species, 120 species of mammals, 348 species of birds, trees, plants, ferns among others. You also have a cultural encounter with the Batwa people.

The trip then takes you to Kibale forest National Park the primate capital of the world with 13 primate species and mostly known for Chimpanzees, over 100 individuals in each community. You will also see others like black and white colobus, baboons, bush babies, LHoests monkeys among others. This trip will also expose you to heritage sites like Amabere ga nyina mwiru caves and the Crater Lake field.

DAY 1: TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

In the morning, after your breakfast, you will transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. Your first stop over will be at the equator to experience the water experiment that shows that water flows in different directions in the northern and southern hemisphere. We shall have our lunch at Igongo Cultural center and from there we shall proceed directly to Bwindi. The journey to the park is an experience of its own because you will have beautiful views of the rift valley and the kasese hills plus the alluring savannah plains.

DAY 2: GORILLA TREKKING

Immediately after your breakfast, we shall head to the park office headquarters for a simple briefing by the guide and then start off with our trekking. Do not forget to carry some packed lunch. Trekking usually takes between 1 to 8 hours or even a full day basing on the location of gorillas. And when you finally see them, it will be a great and fun time as you watch them. Only 1 hour is permitted to watch these beautiful and calm giants of the forest. Also make sure you carry enough water with you, hats, sun glasses, rain coats, and non-flash cameras. Walking through the thick jungle in search of these mammals is a thrilling experience that you won’t regret because on the trekking journey you won’t only see mountain gorillas, but also other wildlife species like the forest elephants, different bird species and butterflies, all these combined create an awesome experience while trekking the gorillas.

DAY 3: COMMUNITY WALK AND BATWA CULTURAL ENCOUNTER

After having had your palatable breakfast, you will have a community walk in the surrounding villages. Here you will have an opportunity to encounter with the legendary Batwa people, see their way of life, how they make their food, fire and so on. Visit the caves that used to be their former homes.

DAY 4: TRANSFER TO KIBALE NATIONAL PARK.

Early in the morning you will have breakfast and then transfer to Kibale national park.  You will have an enroute lunch and also have a chance to see the magnificent savannah plains along the way.

DAY 5: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING AND BIGODI COMMUNITY WALK

After your delicious breakfast, we shall go to the park head offices for briefing on what we are to do and not and what we are supposed to have and not. Then we shall start trekking our near cousins in the jungle. The trek is unpredictable whether it will take a full day or one hour, however the movements are extremely amazing, following the chimps at challenging speeds as well as spotting other primates and bird species plus butterflies. After lunch we shall have a community walk in Bigodi to experience the way of life of the local people around.

DAY 6: AMABERE GA NYINA MWIRU AND TRANSFER TO KAMPALA

In the morning, you will transfer to Fort portal town, obviously after your breakfast to Amabere ga nyina mwiru historical caves. You will hike through the Crater Lake field, have lunch in Fort portal town and then drive back to Kampala.
