DETAILS of 10 Days Congo Rwanda Gorilla Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Arriving at Kigali airport, our experienced and knowledgeable driver guide will transfer you to the lodge where you will spend the night. Check in at the lodge, have dinner, and overnight to prepare for the next day.
Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
In the morning after breakfast, our experienced driver-guide will pick you up from the lodge where you will have spent the night and start on your journey to Nyungwe Forest National Park. The journey will give you the chance to have breathtaking views of the thousand hills of Rwanda covered with alluring lush.
You will have a stopover at the National Museum and have a part of the tormenting history of Rwanda in pictures and monuments. You will also have your lunch here and then proceed to the park.

Day 3: Canopy walk and an afternoon forest walk
After the morning breakfast, start on the thrilling experience of walking on the top of the forest canopy. The Nyungwe forest Canopy walk gives you a great opportunity to view the canopy of the rainforest on the canopy walk challenge. The canopy walk is 160 meters long and 70 meters high above the ground.
Have close encounters with birds, monkeys, and other primates. In the afternoon after lunch, go for a forest walk in this mighty jungle of the century and trek for the primates like baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, and other primates
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Kivu
Early morning, immediately after breakfast, you will drive to Lake Kivu the largest lake in Rwanda and shared with DR Congo. It is the best relaxing beach that any traveller would ever want while on a Rwanda safari. Spend the day at the beach, have a boat cruise, and visit the fishing villages as well as the lakeside communities. In the evening have dinner and overnight at the lodge and you get ready to hit Volcanoes National Park the following day.

Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Immediately after breakfast, embark on the vehicle and start your journey to Volcanoes National Park. A journey that will give you the chance to awesomely view the beauty of Rwanda’s chain of hills encircling beautiful lakes within them. You will also come across several local people along the way.

Day 6: Gorillas trekking
Early morning at 7 am, after an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a simple briefing before commencing with the gorilla trekking experience. The experience involves a simple hike through the forest, having to pave your way through the forest with a handstick or a real hand, and walking through the thick lush but the reward is worth it all.
Spend an hour with the habituated gorillas, looking into their brown eyes, watching them play, running, and feeding. Take as many pictures as you want provided the camera doesn’t have a flash.
Day 7: Golden monkey trekking and Ibyawachu
In the morning, have breakfast head to the park headquarters for a short briefing from the park guide, and then enter the forest for the golden monkey trekking. Just in a few minutes, meet the beautiful golden monkeys and watch them play and jump from one tree branch to another and see how they live daily. It’s simply an experience for life.
After lunch visit the famous Ibyiwachu cultural village that gathers together all three ethnic groups of Rwanda in only one stop point. Engage in the traditional dances performed here. A taste of the local cuisine is a guarantee except for those that don’t want to.
Day 8: Drive to Congo
Early morning, transfer to Goma a border town between Rwanda and Congo. This is also the nearest town to Virunga National Park. Here you will have an overnight in preparation for the next big day for the Virunga gorillas.

Day 9: Virunga Lowland gorilla trekking
Having had a delicious breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for a simple briefing about the lowland gorilla trekking, the dos and don’ts while on the trek, and the gorillas. Start the thrilling experience of hunting for the lowland gorillas in the Virunga valleys, encountering different mammal species, birds, and several primates.
Trekking these gorillas usually takes about 1-6 hours experience of in the forest depending on the movements of these apes. On meeting the group. Watch them interact with each other, take as many photos and short videos as you want provided the camera doesn’t have a camera. When the one hour elapses, trek back to the park headquarters and drive back to the lodge.
Day 10: Departure
In the morning, have breakfast and then check out of the hotel to travel park to Kigali, either straight to the airport or to the hotel of your choice
